Sensor technology lets us make a whole range of different measurements. We measure the coin’s size, its diameter, thickness and alloy characteristics. We measure the conductivity, i.e. how well it conducts electricity, and we measure its magnetic properties, i.e. whether it contains metals that are magnetic or not.
